Movie: The Mighty Celt
« on: January 24, 2012, 03:51:22 pm »
I watched a movie on Netflix the other night called "The Mighty Celt", and I was wondering if anyone else had seen it before? It's about a young boy in N. Ireland who helps to train racing Greyhounds. I enjoyed seeing the dogs, but there were some upsetting scenes in the movie. The guy who runs the kennel is, of course, a cruel bastard.

Hmm. I have not heard of this one. If it has Greyhounds in it, I might just have to watch it!

I had heard of it but have not seen it, I have a hard time with ovies like that.  Enough of that stuff (treating all types of dogs poorly) right here in the US and it will only make me feel bad.  I will be sure to check it out though.

I know what you mean about the cruelty parts, but the boy is very appealing, and it does have a positive ending, but I don't want to ruin it for you in case you do watch it.

I just happened onto it browsing the movies on Netflix, and seeing that it had Greyhounds in it, I had to watch it. You don't get to see Greyhounds very often in movies. It would be nice to see them in a movie where they were just pets, though, and not racers.
